We all had a fab time for the Pirates and Mad Scientists Day. The children's costumes were fabulous and a visit from Flo the parrot started he day off fantastically. We had a really interesting workshop where we made eggs float by adding salt to water, then we learnt how to reverse this change through heating the salt water with a Bunsen burner. We all then designed and made our own pirate boats and the challenge was to see how long they could hold the pirates treasure for, before sinking! All of the children's boats floated , but the boats made by Holly and Rufus were the only ones able to hold the weight of the treasure for 20 seconds - well done you two👍😀
